Thank you so much for your honesty! Knowing when to let a character like Batman crack is one of the hardest parts (especially considering in canon it's likely he wouldn't have cracked at all), but I try my best. In this case I was probably definitely influenced by my own Joker-obsession in that I can't imagine having anyone *not* fall for the guy, but anyway, I digress. Bats is meant to be feeling so utterly hopeless at this point and the fact that he doesn't understand the man to save his their lives plays a part in his breakdown, but if I didn't convey that it's entirely my fault. Hopefully I'll manage better in my current fic (but probably not :P). Glad you liked it -- and the word pansexual is not used nearly enough. ;)
