Sep. 18th, 2007 08:45 pmAuthor: interpretthis
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Severus Snape/Harry Potter (serious undertones of Severus Snape/Lily Evans)
Genre: Slash/Angst
Rating: Mature
Summary: It’s Harry’s final night at Hogwarts, and Severus is drunk.
Spoilers: VERY post-DH. However, it’s majorly AU in the fact that Snape has not yet done the AK deed and is still working at Hogwarts, while Harry is a student through his final year.
Notes: For
orangeokapi13 , who owes me a million points to Slytherin, even though this is way late and possibly a bit more Snarry than she'd intended...*coughs loudly* Or Snarry at all.
Disclaimer: I do not claim to be the brilliant, beautiful, generally and insanely wonderful in every way Jo Rowling. Nor am I a member of the Scissor Sisters, who sing the all-around fantabulous “I Can’t Decide”.
It's not easy having yourself a good time,
Greasing up those bets and betters
Watching out they don't four-letter
Fuck and kiss you both at the same time
Smells like something I've forgotten
Curled up died and now it's rotten…
Tenth firewhiskey down and counting. Severus wondered briefly if he could make it to thirteen for his health before stumbling out of his chair and deciding against it. Perhaps. A bit. Of fresh. Air.
I'm not a gangster tonight,
Don't want to be the bad guy,
I'm just a loner baby,
And now you’ve gotten in my way…
Severus considered trying the stairs. He took one, felt the cool outside air rush past his pasty face and grabbed the railing, steadying himself for all it was worth. Sharp liquid laced its way through his clenched fingers, jostling its way over the neck of his bottle to stain the dark stone underfoot. He heard a noise in the darkness in front of him and started, squinting into the gloom as he placed the bottle safely onto a step. Student out of bed, perhaps? Loose skrewt?
Student out of bed. Severus made a gleeful sort of giggle and brandished his wand, leaning forward heavily and unbalanced to push the figure into the wall of the castle’s front steps. The boy was close and warm, the long length of him pressed up against Severus’s front. He felt himself respond immediately, and didn’t have the lucidity, nor the judgment, to back away.
“Mr. Potter. Celebrating your last night at Hogwarts, I presume?”
I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride…
He heard an intake of breath and pressed the point of his wand farther into the boy’s neck. Harry gasped. Snape grinned.
“Seven years I’ve had to deal with your arse, Potter. Seven years of hell for me, seven years of boy. wonder.” Severus leaned forward in a large arc, his face hovering dangerously close to Harry’s, his warm, tangy breath flooding across the boy’s cheek. Harry blinked. “Maybe I shouldn’t let you go Potter. Maybe that would make things too easy for you.”
It's a bitch convincing people to like you
If I stop now call me a quitter
If lies were cats you'd be a litter
Pleasing everyone isn't like you
Dancing jigs until I'm crippled
Slug ten drinks I won't get pickled…
“Professor,” the bemused look on Harry’s face infuriated Severus. “I think you’re a bit drunk.”
“Ha. Me? Drunk?” Severus dropped the boy’s look and decided to focus on his full, red lips, hovering just below his own. His head dipped forward. Their lips brushed with a gasp from the boy. Severus had to admit, he tasted better than firewhiskey.
I've got to hand it to you
You've played by all the same rules
It takes the truth to fool me
And now you've made me angry…
Severus fazed back to semi-drunken reality, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
“You know, you really make me angry Potter.” Harry stared back, gripping the banister at his back with two hands, his bright green eyes fiery, even in the dark. Severus felt a slight hardness forming against his thigh somewhere in his mess of tangled thoughts. “It’s not just you either. Your name, Potter. Your eyes. Your courage. Your too-red fucking lips.”
I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride…
“But I know your future. I know better than anybody what’s coming for you,” Severus swung down again, almost as if compelled through gravity alone, to meet Harry’s waiting lips, moaning softly into his mouth before pulling away once more. Harry stared up at him with an incredulous wonder, his eyes raking Severus’s own for a sign of - what to do? Where to go? Whether or not to give in?
Severus’s face dropped its slightly maniacal mask, going lack in the semi-darkness.
“I protected you. Protected you all this time and for what? For what?! She wouldn’t have wanted this. She wouldn’t have. I can stop this. I have to stop this.”
As Harry watched, Severus switched back into woozy-mode, reminding him forcibly of Crouch Sr. on the night of his murder. The older man’s algid fingers snuck up Harry’s neck to tangle in his jet black hair. He swooped down again, this kiss more demanding than the last, tongues and lips and teeth clashing together in the fierce battle of a seven-year build-up. The heat peaked as Severus broke away with a shattering gasp, seeming to sink into himself a fraction in the dim, his eyes losing their feverish sparkle.
Oh I could throw you in the lake
Or feed you poisoned birthday cake
I wont deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone
Oh I could bury you alive
But you might crawl out with a knife
And kill me when I'm sleeping
That's why…
“You ruined everything Potter. Everything. You and your good-for-nothing father. I could have had a future with her. We could have been happy together. Are you happy Mr. Potter? Are you?” Severus leaned down to hiss in the boy’s ear, the blush of heat in the frigid night sending a shiver down Harry’s spine. “You stole her from me. Snatched her right out of my heart. I want her back.”
Harry stared back at Severus, his breathing even, cock hard, glare defiant.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Severus’s lips curled up in a jagged grin, his black eyes boring into the opposite green ones.
“I have to save her. She’s hiding. There. In you.” Severus lifted a long, white finger to trace the delicate skin around Harry’s eyes. “Albus intends to let you die. But I won’t. I can’t. I haven’t lived through this for nothing. I want her and I have you and you’re not going to die.”
I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven,
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride…
He forced their lips together one last time, crushing into the boy with the full force of his pain, aching to take him. To save him. To bring her out and make her happy. The cold air stung his face and still his lips worked, vying hungrily with Potter’s on the castle stairs on the last night of a defining generation.
Still he wanted her. Still he had him.
