I didn't take very obsessive records last year, so unfortunately there may be one or two I forgot, and I could've sworn I read The Subtle Knife in February or March when I was home sick for a couple days, but it's the last one on my '07 list so I am thoroughly confused.

Hopefully I'll have a better literary 2009 (maybe I'll actually complete it for once!).

EDIT: Oh mon dieu.  It keeps cutting off my last three for no particular reason.  So here -

Beyond the reading, I'm back from Atlanta, am sitting on my last day off and a load of homework, and am thoroughly freaked out to be on this side of the school year heading towards finals and AP shit and the horrors of SAT.  I am, however, one step closer to NYC, college, summer, Equus :P, and the return of television.  It evens out rather nicely.

And towards 2008's fifty books, I am soso close to being finished with The Sweet Far Thing:

That is all.  Happy New Year!

8. The Angel of Darkness by Caleb Carr
9. The Cement Garden by Ian McEwan
10. Night by Elie Wiesel

The Angel of Darkness: Lazlo Kreizler has my heart. As does Mr. Carr for creating him and these two brilliant novels. That is all.

The Cement Garden: Short and sweet - like one long, languishing summer day with touch of creepy and a bit of incest on the side.

Night: Horrifying and amazing. I kept getting his story mixed up with Gloria's, which throws the reality of it all into stark perspective.

Hopefully my slow-reading self will get something done en France. I was hoping to have A Great and Terrible Beauty done with, but it was not to be.
