Notes: For day three of dramionedrabble's 12 Days of Halloween. Prompt: phantom. And this came to life during fencing this evening, so here be much fencing jargon. Feel free to ignore.
Summary: War is inevitable. In a good way.
He ducked swiftly as her foil lashed out, stabbing at thin air.
“Ducking’s not allowed Malfoy.”
He smirked, jolting up to lunge out at her. She swept through his line with an easy parry, retaliating with a riposte. The tip of her blade halted and bounced off just as it reached his chest, care of their well-placed protection charms.
“You’re supposed to be my phantom, Granger. My tool. No fighting back.”
Her eyes gleamed deviously.
“Well isn’t this just the night for rule-breaking.”
He engaged her blade with a quick swipe, bringing both upwards to cross vertically as he stepped into her comfort zone, pressing forward. His smirk widened, pale lips growing increasingly defined as he felt her breath hitch.
“If I’d known you want me so much Granger…”
Hermione swallowed, eyes fixed on his thin, deadly lips.
“You’re right Draco…”
She stepped closer, flush against him, edging him slowly towards the wall.
Draco groaned against her, making no effort whatsoever to curb all outward signs of victory. Of which there were many. “I-
ARGH!”
Hermione beamed, drinking in the sight of Malfoy, sprawled on the floor in a pile of hap-hazard limbs, foot stuck in a –
“Where the bloody hell did the pumpkin come from Granger?”
Hermione flashed him an even grin, folding her arms across her chest, cocking an eyebrow.
“This is, after all Malfoy, the Room of Requirement.”

Date: 2007-10-23 09:33 pm (UTC)Anyway, the idea of Hermione and Malfoy fencing was pretty darn good. It reminded me a bit of LOTR, actually, but that's just cuz I always associate swords with LOTR. =P

*snort* Haha, okay, wasn't expecting the pumpkin part! Nice little touch there. =)
I think this my favorite of all three so far, good job!
